This pantheon of goshes, addresses questions relating to: Origins, miracles, and evidence of incorporeal beings (eg God, angels, demons, spirit guides, etc).

Lumenos followed a tradition of naming goshes according to each mysterious phenomena which may require a supernatural or mythical explanation. A traditional example would be like if the Greeco-Roman "gods" were named after each planet, because the planets moved in mysterious and unrelated ways and therefore may have been distinct lifeforms who were trying to communicate with us. Turns out, they were not gods only idols. A modern example of how one could follow this naming convention would go like this, "I set my keys right here and now they are gone! In case a 'god' has moved them I will name this gosh 'Ke' because she stole my keys." Goshes named in this way are called "gogs". "Gogs" is based on an acronym of "gods of the gaps" or "goshes of the gaps". Gogs are goshes named according to the gap in naturalistic explanations, for which the gosh seems to be a better explanation.

"Gog" (capitalized or not) may refer to anyone's perception of (a) gog/Gog, not only Lumenos' Gog or Lumenos' pantheon of gogs.

Progs are the programmers of the simulated reality that Prince Elon has detected from his specularium. It's straight Bostrouumian old-earth creation science. He made rockets that land, reduced the cost of space travel by orders of magnitude, made e-cars and their batteries affordable/practical, and did all this on not drugs! Feel the authority!

Lumenati pantheon of gogs[edit]

  • Unca is the gog of the spontaneous existence (the uncaused cause) of the universe (cause of the Big Bang), assuming that some form of a "physical" substance has not always existed to cause the Big Bang. Unca is also known as the Great Exploder, for she doesn't exactly need to be awake for the Big Moment, she is only really needed for the spontaneity of her free will to wait for all eternity then make explosion.
Eeeaaruum actually I think we need to make this a male deity cause that sounded creepy.
Lol wat?!?! Female orgasm is much less common so this is certainly a female deity. Or perhaps, rather than an act of free will, explosion is caused by overeating from the mouth of God.
  • Designer gogs:
    • Se created the first cell(s). Spee created all distinct species. If Spee exists, Se is actually Spee.
    • Alternatives to a multiverse explanation, for example, MuchVariation:
      • Ert is the gog of the Earth. Ert made the Earth and solar system hospitable to life
      • Fi is the fine-tuner of the universe assuming a fine-tuned universe.
  • Mind gogs:
    • Senti gives us sentience, assuming this cannot be accounted for physically (whatever that would mean). This may be a truism based on the "definition" of physical that exists in Lumenos' mind. An experiencer does not seem to fit the (vague or intuitively derived) definition/concept of a physical entity.
      • Uni gives us the qualities of being metaphysically unique from one another, and to not change experiencers through time. Of course being in different bodies makes experiencers unique in one sense, but this means they are also not identical, like perhaps they could each have free will and therefore if a body changed experiencers, the new experiencer would not necessarily make the same choices as the previous experiencer. If Uni exists, I think this means that Senti is Uni because it would seem that for there to be unique experiencers, sentience would have to be metaphysical. In other words, there is no need to explain something with two gogs, when the gog that does one thing (ie create experiencers that are not identical) must also have done the other thing (created "sentience"). In other words, Senti is another name for Uni but Uni is not necessarily another name for Senti. The alternative view is that consciousness is like a generic state where the only differences between people are due to physical differences such as brain features, memories, etc. If experiencers are not unique, then this one experiencer who we are all duplicates of is a psychological gosh called Mono.
        • Fre is the gog who gives us free will.
          • Peh is the gog of pre-established harmony. If there is pre-established harmony, Fre is Peh.
          • Quan is the gog of quantum fluctuation. If quantum fluctuation is not really random or deterministic, but instead is guided by our will power, then one might ask how we obtained this power. Maybe it was some form of atheistic/existentialist magic, or maybe it was the magic of Quan.
    • Alm allows us to be capable of altruistic morality/love.
  • Psychological gogs or goshes (If there is no Free Will who makes our choices? We "personify" our choices; why not personify the forces who control us? These goshes may represent this "personification"... or is it they who are personifying us? Note: these may not be gogs exactly because they don't explain a "gap" in the same way the others gogs do. They may illustrate the gap that Fre symbolizes but the issue here is not a naturalistic explanation vs a supernatural one, it is the "common sense" perception that we are in "control" which even naturalists may "believe in".)
    • Aphrodite/Anima
    • Animus
    • (You could probably put a whole lot of pagan gods in this category.)
  • the overgogs
    • Coen allows the other gogs to work only through unlikely coincidences (coincidentalism)
    • Int allows the other gogs to suspend the laws of physics (interventionism)
    • Progs are the programmers of a simulated reality assuming we live in a Simulated Reality
  • packaged-deal gogs
    • Gog is a combination of whichever gogs you think are most likely, into one gog.
  • Pra is the gog who answers prayer
  • Sync makes syncronicity happen. unlikely coincidences in our life.

When Gog is capitalized this means it is a proper noun (name). This usually implies the person is referring to a specific monotheistic gosh who explains many of the gaps or the most extraordinary of the gaps. Any of the gogs may actually be the same gog having many attributes as is traditional in monotheism. For example, the cosmological argument may imply God is transcendent or has free will, a design argument may imply God is intelligent, an argument from mind may imply God is sentient, etc. We don't usually know if the gog is the thing they are gog of, or if they are distinct from it.

Lumenos' Gog's attributes[edit]

Lumenos imagines that the most likely or interesting Gog's attributes are known from various gaps (the gogs are named instead of the gaps for brevity):

  • Unca - transcendence and possibly free will
  • Designer gogs - intelligence
  • Senti - sentience
  • Sel - a distinct soul from all other souls

In other words, Lumenos combined all the above gogs into one, who he called Gog. (This is not a complete list as of yet.)

Coincidentalism and interventionism[edit]

One major distinction in the way gogs interact with the world is whether they work and are known through coincidences which are too unlikely to be the result of chance (coincidentalism), or whether they actually suspend the laws of physics (interventionism).
