InfoAd
An infoAd is an informative and critical review (or "advertisement"). Its function however is to inform without being annoying, as with typical propaganda advertising. InfoAds aim to be attractive and trustworthy rather than a tolerated nuisance you expect to be extremely biased and deceptive (ie "spam"). In an infoAd, the "critical" information may outweigh the "favorable" information. It is more of a review or evaluation, but may be called an "ad" because the reviewer may profit from sales, referrals, etc.

Don't sacrifice your reputation for a quick buck[edit]
ProAds diminish the value of the "bait" content. For example, TV commercials are an annoyance that interrupts the show. People pay to have content free of this sort of advertising. Lumenikilus may allow product reviews to be done by collaboration between sales reps and disinterested editors. Wikipedia frowns upon sale reps adding propaganda but if the salesmen uses sound evidence and doesn't edit from a work computer, who's gonna know or care?
InfoAds are OpenEdit[edit]
For an online ad/review to be an "infoAd", it must allow anyone to comment on it. Blogs with comments enabled are only true infoAds if comments post immediately, are not censored for being critical, have no unnecessary requirements such as an email address, and all of this is obvious to readers so that they feel free to post critical comments. Wiki's offer the most free speech possible, when the entire infoAd is editable.
Linking to infoAds without being annoying[edit]
One must distinguish between an infoAd and a link to the infoAd. A link to an infoAd becomes a propAd if it is put places where it is not appreciated. Therefore the distinction between an infoAd link and a propAd link is much more subjective presently.
- We could develop some rules to define how links to infoAds may be placed, so these links are not propAds.
- Putting out a great number of links to infoAds at once, before you have feedback on whether these are appreciated, is uuhh probably more like propoganda advertising. Then again, one never knows if asking if they are appreciated would be appreciated, or if an authority might then feel obligated and thus this could be worse than just not asking.
